JetBrains Copilot

GitHub Copilot support for the IntellIJ Platform.

Installation

Download the latest release. Select the Install Plugin from Disk option in IntelliJ's plugin menu, then select the downloaded ZIP. Then restart IntelliJ.

FAQ

Is this officially supported by GitHub?

No. JetBrains Copilot is a third-party plugin and has no affiliation with GitHub. As such, use it at your own risk, as we use some internal APIs from the Visual Studio Code plugin.

How long will this be maintained?

The plugin will be maintained until GitHub creates their own official plugin.

    Now I have it installed, configured with the token and everything that goes with it but I don't have any additional auto-completion.

    When hitting login, my browser opens. i accept the oauth request. i get redirected. i copy the callback url (which contains the "code" query argument) i get the following error thrown in the ide (webstorm)

  • Not working in Rider?

    Not working in Rider?

    I can install the plugin for Rider, but nothing shows up even after logging in.

    Would be awesome if it was supported for any jetbrains IDE, as the extension can already be installed in all of their IDEs.
