Overview

SIM Number Setter

SIM Number Setter is a small Xposed module that invokes normally unused Android System code to set the "subscriber number" on the device's SIM card. This is the number displayed in the system settings, and used in apps such as Google Messages, as well as being available to third party apps with sufficient permissions.

The number is not always set by carriers (leaving "Unknown"), or can be lost or invalid after porting a number to a different SIM.

This small app allows you to fix it, permanently, using a rooted device with Xposed.

If you don't have a rooted device, or don't want to root your main device, you may wish to consider rooting an old device, and temporarily putting your SIM into that device, using this app, and then putting it back in your main device - the fixed number will travel with it

Important Notice

Changing the SIM number is semi-permanent: the number change will survive reboots, uninstalling this app, even switching the SIM to a different device, but can be changed again at any time using this app.

SIM Number Setter does NOT:

  • Change your actual phone number, no matter what you enter. You must contact your carrier if you wish to port your number or switch network.
  • Unblock a network blocked SIM.
  • Give you free data or calls.
  • Change your IMEI.

SIM Number Setter uses the built-in Android methods to write data to the SIM. The app nor the developer are not responsible for issues with the process, including any damage to the SIM or network issues.

    I'm currently using on Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Global (sweet). It works perfectly. However, would you consider Dual SIM support? This would solve the issue of having to swap SIMs, because only SIM1 is recognized by the app right now.

    The BUG : I have 2 sim cards (Etisalat Egypt & Vodafone Egypt) the first one has a phone number and i can change it just fine, But when i try to change the 2nd sim number (which is unknown by default) it just won't get changed it says saving but it doesn't.

    I have same operator sim cards, one is little older, one is new, they are both 4G cards... On older it saves, on new one it does not... I pictured you a sim, maybe you can recognize and know what you need to update if it possible... On picture, top one is working one (older type 4G card) and on bottom is "new" one that is not saving info (it is also 4G) Both are same operator "mt:s" Telekom Srbija.     There isn't support for this in the platform, please do not make issues asking for it, they will be closed.

    To change the number on your second (or third) SIM, switch it to your main SIM slot, change it and switch back. As with moving your SIM to another device, it will travel with the SIM and stay changed.

    Correct error when SIM card is missing

    If the seven card is not inserted in the phone, it shows the error "Failed to connect to the Xposed service, make sure the module is enabled and you have rebooted", but this is not a correct error, confusing. I tried to flash some old phones and install xposed in different ways, but I kept getting this error. But when I just inserted the SIM card, everything worked. Judging by this code, only the presence of the number is checked, and when it is missing, the general xposed error is displayed. I suggest adding an additional check for the presence of a SIM card.
