Hello! I've discovered this app on f-droid yesterday, outstanding job! There's only one issue: I cannot sort by date created, it stays in the same order as date modified. File details shows both dates. Other sorting methods work. App version: 4.3.3

Everytime i open the gallery app, it always wants to refresh (not that that bothers me) but the problem is, is that it refreshes for a very long time. I can select a folder to go into without waiting for the refresh to finish, but its a bit frustrating and makes me think that not all photos are correctly accounted for in the main folder menu or in any folder for that matter.

Why does it take so long to refresh every single time the app is opened? surely the "long time refresh" should take long only on first time use. But not after its done that.

Should you remove the refresh swipe down according to this: https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-Gallery/issues/312? Im not too sure if that would help in any case, since other gallery apps still have that feature. however it should not keep refreshing for many minutes each time you open the gallery app or each time you go into a specific folder.

This has been an ongoing problem after many version updates and i thought someone would have picked this up by now.

I love this app and would like to use only this. However at the moment i am using F-stop as well, because the refresh and the showing of new photos is too slow on Gallery. thanks for this awesome app by the way!

I found this app named Photo Gallery & Album on the Google Play Store. This guy just took your source code, added some ads in it and put it on the Store, without warning this is free software and without respecting the license...

As you are the owner of the source code, feel free to open a request to google here to remove this copy from the Store, if it's your wish ;) This fake developer has other free/open-source stolen apps in his list, like this one.

Don't forget to tell Google that:

• The app is licensed under Apachev2 license and this guy is violating it;
• He is falsely claiming he made the app;
• Provide some screenshots of your own app.

Unfortunately I've noticed a slight issue. The following image:

is shown in Gallery like this:

(notice the artifacts in the grey sky?)

Don't know when exactly this started happening, currently using 6.23.11 Pro, on Android ~~11~~ 10 Folder structure is like this:

SD card root

• Folder ABC -- Folder 123 --- x number of video files -- Folder 456 [etc]

I tap on any video file but the first, when the preview window opens, it displays the thumbnail of the chosen file for half a second before snapping back to display the first file in the folder (even if it's not a video file), and I have to manually swipe right all the way to whatever video I wanted to watch. This gets annoying quick in a folder with 30+ videos. I can prevent this by immediately playing the video before it snaps to the first file (or checking "Play videos automatically" in the settings), which seems to "interrupt" this behavior, allowing me to play the desired file, but doing so prevents me from being able to swipe right/left to the next or previous video afterwards, when you could do this in earlier versions.

This behavior happens in folders with one or more of the following types: .webm, .mp4, .mov files. Strangely, .mkv doesn't seem to be affected.

edit: .gif files are also unaffected, so this should purely be something with video files.

Sometimes when you "temporarily show hidden folders" they show but you click them and the photos inside don't appear. Even if you wait. Kinda annoying to be quite honest, hope to see it get fixed.

Pictures deleted via the inbuilt delete button somehow show up while scrolling other pictures in fullscreen. The only way to permanently delete these pictures is to open Es Explorer and delete a couple of 0.00B (0 Bytes) files with the same name as the deleted pictures.

• Picture store location: Default "Simple Photos" directory in internal storage
• Simple Gallery version: 1.15 from F-Droid.
• Device: Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9500
• OS: Stock 4.4.2

I have no idea what this 'data' is, but it is causing me to constantly have to delete all app data.

Isn't this the junk that is supposed to go into the cache for easy disposal?

It wouldn't be such a big deal, but this little gallery app consistantly grows into the largest app on the device!

On a memory strapped device, it is just horrible.

This is occurring on all four of my devices, two of which are identical.

I am using extended details to show information about pictures, and have issues with two choices from "Manage extended details" settings:

1/ Date taken Date taken shows file date. For example I take a raw picture with my camera, then export it as jpeg with Light room. File date is of course the export date. However, "date taken" is an exif metadata, and Simple Gallery shows that as "Date taken". "Date taken" should either be labeled "File date", or, better, should show the real "Date taken", and another option should be present to allow displaying "File date".

2/ EXIF When selected, we can see aperture, focal length, exposure time and ISO value. Exposure time is always shown as "1/0s" if value is above 1 second. Correct value should be displayed.

If I'm browsing my files with a file manager and I use SG to view an image in a folder of many images I see I am able to swipe through the other images in the folder. Nice! However, the SG viewer activity always sorts these images by most recently modified even if I have changed the sort option to something else in the main Simple-Gallery application.

I would like to be able to either adjust the current sort order from the image viewer activity itself, or have the viewer respect the sort option of the main application. The former would be more convenient but anything would be good. I've observed this on A12 with both Samsung and Sony phones.

Since the format is not yet widely adopted and is finishing up finalizations, this is a placeholder request for later. The request is to completely support all features of the format, including animation, transparency, and maybe even the layers/extra channels. And to encode files to that format, as well.

Issue

Sometimes, after tapping the 'remove exif' for a photo, the app freezes. The only way to continue is to close the app and open it again. The previously selected photo's thumbnail looks fine in the gallery view but after tapping it, the photo shows a black color covering the image that implies some data was lost

Hi there, I use the "Star / Favorites" feature to mark the pictures I like most. Now I tried to copy them to another, new folder in order to use this folder for uploading them to a photo-printer service. Unfortunately, afterwards my Favorites-Folder disappeared.... I now tried it several times and can easily reproduce the issue. I star some photos in "Camera", select them in "Favorites" and select "copy to..." and whoops, my favorites folder is empty afterwards and the photos in "Camera" lost their "stars".

Is there any possibility to get my old Favorites back ? Would be a pity to search for the highlights again in thoundands of photos...
