Overview

quickrotate

Useful uitlity for ONYX BOOX Eink devices. It provides several quick actions to be added in top system panel

Features

  1. Rotate screen to specifid direction
  2. Open recent task screen
  3. Take screenshot of current screen
  4. Switch Screen Refresh mode between Normal and A2 mode (v1.5.0)
  5. Separate buttons for Noraml/Speed/A2 mode (v1.6.0)

Usage

Click the EDIT button on top right of the notification panel

Current feature icons (v1.6.0)

Drag one of the icons to top section

the icons are with following features in sequence

  • Recent tasks list
  • Refresh screen
  • Screenshot
  • Rotate screen left (click again to back to normal)
  • Rotate screen right (click again to back to normal)
  • Screen refresh mode switch

When click on the rotate icon in notification panel first time, a setting screen will be displayed, please allow it in order to make it work.

    Hi, this is a great little tool - thank you very much! I often read in bed and turn around a lot. When I use the Reader with the cover, I have to turn the display 180° to be able to hold it with the other hand. It would be cool to have a quick button for toggling between "normal" and "upside-down" :)

    wrong APK at tag v1.9.0?

    The APK attached to the latest v1.9.0 release identifies as

    package: name='info.plateaukao.quickrotate' versionCode='1080' versionName='1.8'

    Is it the wrong APK – or did you just forget to update the version in build.gradle before creating it? Could you maybe replace it by the correct one? Thanks in advance!

  • Lock screen

    Lock screen

    Hi! I don’t know if this is possible, so here is my question.

    Currently I have a PIN lock screen, however I set up 30 min delay. So when press the power button, it just turns off the screen without locking it. After 30 minutes of such sleep it will properly PIN lock.

    So my question is, could you please add a shortcut that could PIN lock right a way before the timer?

    Feature Request: Do the e-ink refresh after dismissing the drop down menu

    I'd like to request that the quickrotate Refresh, trigger the ink refresh AFTER dismissing the drop down menu.

    Sort of like how Screenshot also dismisses the drop down menu before taking the screen shot.

    Reason: If the drop down menu remains, the e-ink screen refreshes and then goes away. It does leave a slight ghosting in some applications of the drop-down menu.

    I see it the most in the Kindle app. The line of the menu bar leaves a slight ghosting effect.

  • Long taps

    Long taps

    I long-tapped an icon from Quick Rotate today and it brought me to QR's Android settings. Is there a way that you can make these long-taps more useful?

    One particular example is: make a new Wi-Fi toggle icon and make its long-tap to bring Android's Wi-Fi settings. Currently Onyx devices bring the Onyx Wi-Fi settings, and since I disabled ALL Onyx stuff, my Wi-Fi long-tap is now inactive. I'd appreciate if you could fix that for me

    The same idea for Bluetooth, maybe.

    Another example is for rotation button: long-tap on any of four directions that brings all four options.

    Another one: long-tapping screenshot starts video recording (don't know how easy is this, but Onyx new firmwares have this feature via their own icon. However with your implementation we could save one more button.
