Saikou

Saikou is crafted based on simplistic yet out-of-state elegancy. It is an Anilist only client, which also lets you stream & download Anime & Manga.

Saikou (最高; Sai-kō) literally means the best in japanese. Well, we would like to say this is the best open source app for anime and manga on Android, but hey, Try it out yourself & judge!

All sources except 9 animes working. It was fine before but after i uninstalled and reinstalled it , error pops up

Saikou Beta gives CertPathValidatorException Black Screen on WSA
Summary

Trying to run Saikou on WSA gives

Reproduction Steps

Install Saikou onto Windows Subsystem for Android (my version : 2208.40000.5.0). Installs successfully

Open Saikou Beta

After the splash screen following toast message shows up on screen

Then all you see is the black screen.

Expected Result

Expect for saikou to load the homepage

Actual Result

Error : CertPathValidatorException : trust anchor for certification path not found

New 9anime Extension Source

Summary

This brand new 9anime website is the original website that streams both dub english and sub english for any users who's willing to watch anime.

The Problem

Some of the 9anime websites has been stealing the original brand and creations from the developer's edits they made for their 9anime website, I suggest that saikou beta users and saikou developers should be more aware of this has this has been happening a lot to different anime websites lately.

The Ideal Solution

I hope that there wouldn't be anymore infringing issues with 9anime website that's that's now fully updated, maybe an extension can be implemented with a change.

The Current Solution

There's a bunch of 9anime websites on Google search which I don't trust them to use as they would personally identify any users through advertisments easily.

Added long click dialog to skip time button in exoplayer

Allows for fast (and rough) change of skip time in the video player by long clicking the skip button Options are 0 to 120 in 5 second steps

There is probably a 100% easier way to do this by pulling up the keyboard or something, but I have no Idea how to do that

Zoro.to Source Error after some time
Summary

Whenever I'm watching an anime on the app, After some mins or secs, It starts to load/lose connection and throws 'Source exception : Source error'. This error shows up on every source!

Reproduction Steps

Open any anime > Watch the anime for a few secs or mins or skip to some secs or mins > Wait for a little bit and it will lose connection and the loading icon will show up.

Expected Result

After some time, It should continue to play.

Actual Result

Source Exception : Source Error shows up. Even switching source doesn't fix the issue.

Fix Anilist API

Fix Anilist API by adding Referer header to trick their system into that the requests are coming from the main website.

Tested on my device, I don't know if it works on other devices but it should.

This is a temporary fix anyway, eventually, the app will work without this fix when Anilist fixed their server.

Add https://muchohentai.com as a Hentai Source.

Summary

Addding MuchoHentai as Source. It offers 1080p to almost all existing animes.

The Problem

The current offer for hentai is bad because the HentaiMama Quality is pretty low. HentaiStream is good but it lacks in amout of series. Coudn't test haho or hentaiff since they don't work at the moment.

The Ideal Solution

Adding MuchoHentai as a source will fix the problem. Since it has a huge library of 1080p Series. The are AI Upscaled if the series doesn't support 1080p.

The Current Solution

Adding MuchoHentai as a source for Hentai.

Series are released super quickly after actual release date and it is constantly updated.

Would it be possible to translate the application's INTERFACE?

The Problem

I'm Brazilian and I love the Seikou app. But unfortunately I'm only limited to English, and I'm not good at English. So if you could translate the application's interface into PORTUGUESE 🇧🇷 I would be very happy. - only if possible . . I would also like to ask you to put sleeve extensions in Portuguese. MangaDex has several manga available in Portuguese 🇧🇷, so if possible, do that. I love Saikou, please.

Pacted anime is a new brand website since the old anime website they created no longer exists

The Problem

No issues I've seen from this website since alot of people uses this website for anime streaming only however there are still small advertisement going on in that website so I hope some saikou beta users are willing to bare through it.

The Ideal Solution

Well implementing a block against advertisments that comes from https://pactedanime.com/ might be a change of pace just like you did for other anime extensions.

The Current Solution

Animepahe, 9animebackup, 9anime should be removed from sailou beta's extension as it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Not able to select server

I am not able to select the server of the anime to watch

I wanted to watch anime so I downloaded and updated my list and wanted to watch an episode where we need to select a server to watch and when I need to select the the server there are no options so I am not able to watch any anime.

To add custom next and previous chapter button

Summary

I want that when reading a manga i can customize my next and previous chapter button so that i can put previous chapter button on right side and the other on left

The Problem

When i read manga i read it from right to left and the previous chapter button is always on left side and next chapter button is always on right side but it is not comfortable for me thats why i want you to add custom side for previous and next chapter button so that i can put my previous chapter button on right and the next chapter on left and also if you can add going to next chapter without button just swipe the side you read manga and read the next or previous chapter. Thanks, I really love saikou app its great

Disable manga page long press bottom sheet

Summary

Bad UX

The Problem

New installed this. Trying to scroll managa pages with with fingers holding and bottom sheet literally getting triggered every few seconds treating as long press.

The Ideal Solution

Bottom sheet "reload, save, share" are low priority buttons, rarely used. Put these in the transparent topbar 3 dot/setting icon menu. And option to disable this sheet or better completely remove.
