When opened from the lockscreen (in my case by a button shortcut), the camera works on the first time, but every time afterwards, it just freezes and shows the interface with a black screen. After manually killing the app, it works again once and then the freezing starts again.

Opening the camera from the launcher works every time, no problem there.

Changes

• always show the navigation bar
• adjust the preview so the image captured is what the user sees
• add method MySize.isSupported(); current support is for full, 16:9, 4:3 and 1:1 of the highest resolution
• cleanup ImageQualityManager, add a method to get the full-screen resolution which is just the resolution with the largest width
• change the UI to move settings to the top and remove the auto fading
• -add theme attribute android:windowLayoutInDisplayCutoutMode to shortEdges in the theme
• add flags FLAG_LAYOUT_NO_LIMITS to the window flags
• add the top margin to the icons on top, and set it to the statusBarHeight
• add the bottom margin to the icons at the bottom, set it to the navigationBarHeight + view margin
• rearrange the top icons
• use tabs for camera modes

When pressing the start videorecording button, Simple-Camera closes by sliding down out of view, no FC messages from OS. Phone: Alcatel Idol 2 Mini S (6036Y) Android: 6.0.1 Kernel: 3.10.49

Note that one may have to disable the built-in camera app to use Simple Camera from the lockscreen.

Hello, I am using version 5.2.1 while photos works okay but when I click on record video option I get this error

Please help me out. java.lang.IllegalStateException: Failed to get surface and java.io.IOException: Prepare Failed are two errors I am facing.

Does simple-camera comes with preview of last capture ?

I only see one picture at the bottom of the settings icon but it's not the preview of the last capture, it's an image of simple-gallery from another folder.

Using ~~Gallery~~ Camera app version ~~2.3.9~~ on two Sony Stock ROM's (Android 6.0.1 and 7.0.1) when switching from "photo-mode" to "video-mode" the app crashes.

Working just fine here. I wasn't able to figure out how to insert the license, and to put the new strings into all languages at a glance. Still kinda bare metal but we can improve anytime.

While adding a feature to the Simple Camera app, I noticed that when the option in the settings for Shutter sound is turned on, video recording does not work. Apparently, I see there is an error when loading the sound files.

first: Thank you very much for all of your SimpleMobileTools! It is amazing what you have developed and even more amazing that you chose to make it open source and share it with the world.

I have a suggestion on how to make SimpleCamera better. With hardware accelerated AV1 decoding support already implemented in many cpus/gpus, and hardware encoding support hitting the consumer market this christmas, web browsers adapting the format and so on - it seems logical that this file format will become widespread and probably even the next industry standard. Qualcomm will add hardware support for it in their 2023 mobile phone chips, too.

Many open source projects such as Krita, GIMP, ... are already implementing support for it.

Would it be possible to add support for this codec to SimpleCamera, so that the user can take videos in AV1 codec (if hardware encoding supported by the phone) and pictures in AVIF codec? These codecs save a lot of space, which seems to be a good idea especially on mobile phones.

Edit: Oh, and JPEG XL support might also be a good idea!

As per the discussion at https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-Camera/issues/281, Simple Camera now works fine from the lockscreen, but only if the default camera is disabled.

This isn't noted in README.md, and also not displayed on first launch of the app - this is important because many users will probably get the app from F-Droid, and those users probably won't see the readme anyway.

I'll submit a MR now to update README.md.
